Pulled up your blog for old times sake…

…and now I sit here crying.  Sure miss you my sweet girl.  I don’t say it a lot, but it’s true never-the-less.  I look at the big photos and artworks that I have of you every day.  And I stop by your urn without much thought and give you a little rub or pat and tell you I love you.  It is so not the same as having you squished up next to me sleeping.  Sweet muzzle resting on my belly or arm.  I don’t think anyone else will ever cuddle with me as well as you did.

Remember this?  Your vacation to Savannah.  That was a pretty good time.

Puppy dog eyes for treats… (you were only about a year and a half here)

And Baby B cuddles…

Love you sweetpea!

My furry family and I live in Atlanta. I care for a 12 year old pittbull mix (Brendol) who underwent an amputation of her front right leg for bone cancer. I also care for a 10 1/2 year old chow/border collie mix (Aissa) and two sister cats that are 3 (Mathilde and Morrigan).

  1. Now I am crying. You usually don’t say much about missing B but I know you do. So when you do say something I know you must be hurting today. I am so sorry that your baby isn’t with you. I hurt when my friends hurt. Just remember our girls are together healthy and waiting for us.

  2. Yeah, ditto Micnelle!

I’m soooooo glad you posted this today. We miss sweet Brendol too. And to see her precious pictures just warms my heart.

One of the most fascinating things about Brendols’ photos is how much she changes through the years…..never losing her smile though, always keeping her “sweetness”, and always showing her love for her momma through the sparkle in her eyes!

I know visiting her blog is so bittersweet, I’m just so glad you did though. It’s a blog that needs to continue…it’s a blog where her great hotograhs need to be shared…..it’s a blog that is so life affirming…..it’s a blog tjat allows her legacy to continue…it’s a vlog that will forever capture how much FUN she had with you as her human!!

I just loved seeing these pictures tonight! Yeah, smiles through the tears, but the smiles won out!!

By the way…I’ve never seen a dog wear a hat so well! And she doesn’t even seem irritated by it! Rather, she seems quite proud!!

And the picture of you and Brendol…..yeah, the love is sooo strong…the oneness, the blending of two souls…..it’s all right there.

Sending you so much love and lots of hugs!

And Aissa…..to see her as a puppy….OMD!!! Sooo cute!!

  3. Sending you so many hugs …. I know how you feel! I went back through Shelby’s blog today to find a link for someone here and it just brought it all back. Thank you for writing this and letting us in and letting us *hopefully* comfort you. She had such a beautiful face. What a tender soul and I love that photo of the snuggles… She’s with you. In your heart and watching you always, as your tagline says. She’s watching her whole family.

    Hugs and love,
    Alison & her shelby

  4. Those are pictures of a truly loved pup and it is so evident in that last picture that she just loved being your baby and cuddling up next to you. Some of my favorite pictures on this site are the ones of Brendol that I think you had professionally taken. Every time I see them pop up, the way she’s smiling, it makes me smile every time. Her happiness just comes right through the screen!

    Sending you lots of hugs

  5. I’m totally with ya Karma. It’s hard not to let those watery eyes happen when we look back on our time with Jerry. So much love, so many good times. Nothing can ever replace it, yet nothing can ever take it away. How blessed we were to even have them right? At least that’s how we have to console ourselves until that one day in the great beyond when we all meet up with our heart dogs once again.
